ACTIVE GEELONG 2026 WORKPLACE AND COMMUNITY AWARDS

Active Geelong is preparing to celebrate the 2026 Workplace and Community Awards, recognising local employers and organisations committed to improving the physical and mental health of our community.

Whether leading by example in the workplace or supporting local initiatives, these organisations play an important role in creating a healthier, more active Geelong region.

We are delighted to welcome Frances Diver, CEO of Barwon Health, as our guest speaker. The Awards Breakfast on Thursday 12 November will bring our community together to connect, share ideas and celebrate the local champions promoting physical activity across the region.

ACTIVE WORKPLACE OF THE YEAR (LARGE EMPLOYER) AWARD

This award will go to a LARGE EMPLOYER (100+ employees) that best demonstrates their commitment to creating an active culture and active physical environment for their employees.

ACTIVE WORKPLACE OF THE YEAR (SMALL/MEDIUM EMPLOYER) AWARD

SPONSORED BY West Carr Harvey

This award will go to a SMALL/MEDIUM EMPLOYER (less than 100 employees) that best demonstrates their commitment to creating an active culture and active physical environment for their employees.

COMMUNITY AWARD

SPONSORED BY Geelong Connected Communities

Awarding a workplace that engages with the wider community to support and participate in physical activity and active travel initiatives and can clearly demonstrate some of the following:

• Actively promote and participate in community initiatives that encourage physical activity 
• Encourage workplace teams to participate in organised sport and physical activity opportunities in the local area
• Use and promote local parks, open spaces, recreation and community activities to encourage physical activity by our employees 

GENERAL PRACTICE/ALLIED HEALTH CLINIC OF THE YEAR AWARD

This award recognises the General Practice or Allied Health Clinic that goes above and beyond to promote physical activity to their staff and patients. They show some of the following characteristics:

• Actively promote physical activity to staff and patients
• Host or refer clients to the Active Geelong Walks Program or other physical health programs

ACTIVE WORKPLACE CHAMPION AWARD

This award recognises an individual who is a passionate advocate for movement within their organisation.

• The recipient should “walk the talk” through their own behaviour, leadership, and actions, inspiring others, creating
