ACTIVE GEELONG 2025 WORKPLACE AND COMMUNITY AWARDS

On 20 November 2025, Active Geelong hosted its annual Workplace and Community Awards Breakfast, celebrating the commitment of local employers and organisations working to improve the physical and mental health of our community.

Whether leading by example within their workplaces or supporting local initiatives, these organisations continue to play an important role in helping create a more active Geelong region.

The event was proudly sponsored by Roderick Insurance Brokers, with Iain Martin, Vice Chancellor of Deakin University, joining as the guest speaker. The morning provided a great opportunity for attendees to connect, share ideas and recognise the achievements of local champions promoting physical activity across the region.

ACTIVE WORKPLACE OF THE YEAR (SMALL/MEDIUM EMPLOYER) 2025 AWARD

ACTIVE GEELONG 2025 ACTIVE WORKPLACE OF THE YEAR (SMALL/MEDIUM EMPLOYER): SPONSORED BY West Carr Harvey

This award will go to a SMALL/MEDIUM EMPLOYER (less than 100 employees) that best demonstrates their commitment to creating an active culture and active physical environment for their employees.

COMMUNITY AWARD

ACTIVE GEELONG 2025 COMMUNITY AWARD: SPONSORED BY Geelong Connected Communities

Awarding a workplace that engages with the wider community to support and participate in physical activity and active travel initiatives and can clearly demonstrate some of the following:

• Actively promote and participate in community initiatives that encourage physical activity 
• Encourage workplace teams to participate in organised sport and physical activity opportunities in the local area
• Use and promote local parks, open spaces, recreation and community activities to encourage physical activity by our employees

This award recognises the General Practice Clinic that goes above and beyond to promote physical activity to their staff and patients. They show some of the following characteristics:
